warslaughter – autólisis coprolitica (demo compilation) [compilation]

Info

Hot on the heals of the band’s second album, the Black Noise Committee released ‘Autocombustión’, we are also presented with this tape release that compiles both of Warslaughter’s demos – something that the title obviously already suggested. On this tape, released through an USA-based underground label, we are offered the demos in chronological order, meaning, the oldest first followed by the last. So, off we go for another dive into arcane and inaccessible Bestial Black/Death Metal world of Warslaughter.

In the review for ‘Autocombustión’ I already spent a few words on the band’s first demo. ‘Prácticas Antropofágicas’ is a downright obscure and murky sounding demo that can basically be drilled down to a more Death Metal-driven Beherit sort of recording. The puddle of mud-sound of this recording is something you have to have a knack for, or be able to see through, as it is so omni-present and mood-setting.

More or less the same can be said about the 2023 2-track demo ‘Explosión Craneal Impoluta / Germinación Fecal’. This one was released after the band’s first full-length album, but it clearly has more in common with the first demo, at least sound-wise: also very muffled and muddy throughout.

Yet, if you are able to enjoy this sort of thoroughly rough and extremely raw recordings, this is quite an enjoying ride. You might not play this on a weekly basis, but it definitely shows a band that knows their craft in creating some sinister and obscure Bestial Black/Death metal.
