Siegehammer – Spectral Entities [EP]

siegehammer – spectral entities [ep]

Info

Siegehammer are a relatively new band from Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain, formed in 2023. They play an infectious mix of Black and old school Death Metal, with dark nefarious themes revolving around occultism, violence, and war.

Their music is very intense and brutal sound, fusing the atmosphere of old school Death Metal with the ferocity of War Metal.

And since some of the members are also involved in the Doom/Death band Rotten Cavern, the element of devastating Doom hasn’t been neglected, as can be heard in the slower parts of the music.

Even influences from Grave Upheaval and Teitanblood lurk around the corner.

Their latest release is an EP titled ‘Spectral Entities’, released by Gurgling Gore. This demo features 2 tracks: “Stygian Sky” and “Spectral Entities,” and includes guest appearances by members of Sanctuarium and Trollcave.

The deeply growled cavernous vocals fit perfectly in the truly primitive pulverizing old school Death Metal sound (Nihilist, Danish Samhain, old Death and Treblinka/Tiamat come to mind) and is even elevated to a higher plain with the injected brutality of Bestial War metal. What more does one need? There are only 2 tracks on ths demo tape, but there is also the ‘Demo MMXXIII from 2023’, which is in the same vein and has been recently re-released to a wider public by Profaner Records.

They’re a bunch of heavy Hitters that’s for sure and I don’t need to remind fans of this type of music what to do next.
