After the “Consuming the Diseased” demo, colourfully anal-ysed by the one and only Franki_boj here at VM-Underground, Putrid Tomb went through quite some line-up changes and there you have it. One of the 2 reasons why Putrid Tomb isn’t active anymore.
The other one is the fact main man Kian Abulhosn wants to be more technical and challenging, yet his drum skills is not at the level of acceptance in his own mind. To be honest, quite a honourable thing to do for one to review his own skills like that and make the decision to come back when he is ready to do so.
Back to Putrid Tomb…maybe Abulhosn wants to be more technical, but the EP is definitely good enough for me. No caveman riffs here, just well-played old school Brutal Death Metal, with hints of first Suffocation, Chris Barnes-era Cannibal Corpse, mid-90s Deeds of Flesh as well as Autopsy for the slower parts. At the end of the self-titled closer, you will probably hear the musical direction Abulhosn wants to execute…for now…The putrid tomb has sealed. (Ricardo)
