Being formed a mere two years ago, this Chilean band quickly drew the attention of crowd and press with their infectious brand of gore drenched Death/Black/Grindcore and after a split with Rito Profanatorio and a demo, the ‘Visions of Blood and Gore’ 4-track EP is presented.
Onslaught Kommand play a kind of menacing abyssmal Grindcore/Death/Black, reminiscent of old Pungent Stench festering with gut wrenched Death Metal influences and a rather Satanic atmosphere. Everything sounds like it’s from the early 1990-ies when the genre became popular…
The songs are pretty straightforward and real heavy hitters at the same time. This simple linear approach only adds to the morbid butcher atmosphere of the EP.
It’s full carnage all the way: a deep rumbling bass, guttural vocals and animalistic sounds and an abrasive Death Metal/Grindcore genre old Carcass complimented with bashing drums. Speed varies where needed, with the necessary hooks and rhythm changes. There’s even a Pungent Stench cover on this EP.
Onslaught Kommand may not have been long in existence, they know who to deliver the goods and are in my opinion one of the most promising bands of 2024. And this EP serves as their name card of 2024.
Whether they will continue on this road remains to be seen although we shouldn’t doubt these slashers. May a full length follow quickly!
