So, yeah… Napalm Death have a new release out. After their last album ranked among the best of their entire career (in my humble option) and knowing this new EP was a collection of “left-overs” from the “Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism” (2020) recording sessions, the immediate thought was, “OK, this should be good, but it won’t be better than the album”. Yeah, normally we all know those songs which are not included on the album are probably the, let’s say, least enjoyable tracks. But what has Napalm Death ever done that is considered as “normal”? The high level of professionalism and song writing from the 2020’s full length is clearly present here, with every single song matching the high level of quality of every single song included in the final track list of their last offering. So, if you enjoyed their last album, you’ll love this one too!
It’s completely unbelievable and incredible how this band, with everything they already released, and after so many years in music (the band started around 1981, not with this line-up, but all of them were already “doing something” here and there, to put it lightly), still have so much intensity and inspiration to surprise us with every release they put out. No exception for this “Resentment is Always Seismic – a final throw of Throes” mini album, again released under Century Media on the usual formats. Highly recommended! (Antonio)
