There are a couple of bands who identifies themselves as Lifeless, but this time I’m talkin’ about the Mexican one, formed back in 2013. Choosing the name Lifeless isn’t strange as they also have chosen Depressive Black Metal as the musical vessel for their negativity and sadness, based on the desolate nature around the Aokigahara forest. They even dedicate this project, as the band stated, “to all who are in that terminal state full of suicide thoughts”.
Switching towards the musical part of Lifeless; they play everything by the book and you get everything you expect from the genre…tortured vocals, bleak riffs and sound as well as anguished melodies. With a duration of 1 hour and 11 minutes a couple of tracks are quite lengthy which the general listener could stumble on, but for the fans for Depressive Black Metal, “Anhedonia” could be a nice addition for their collection, cause as said…it delivers what you can expect of the genre.
