Kiloton – War [EP]

kiloton – war [ep]

Info

With no less than four EP’s in about two months, one-man force Kiloton, hailing from the Quebec-region of Canada, is following up its death march as started back in 2023. The start for this outfit last year was marked with three demos and a compilation that brought those three demo sessions together. So, Kiloton is indeed as prolific as it is horrendously violent in nature.

‘War’, the first of the four EP’s clocks in around thirteen minutes and continues to blast its way through the same enemy lines as the band’s previous demos. In doing so the illustrious figure behind Kiloton likes to emerge himself in both the more or less standard formulae of the Bestial Black/Death Metal genre and the impenetrable world of Noise. While Bestial Black/Death Metal is quit noisy by itself already, adding some key elements out of the Noise or even Power Electronics toolboxes makes the music even more wild, frantic and, yes, impenetrable.

Yet, it would be an unjust disqualification of labelling this as just mere chaos and noise, as the songs that Kiloton is presenting here are actually well-crafted and consist of some actual heavy riffing and that phat bass is playing a major role in the overall sound of what the band is all about.

It is not for the faint of heart, that is for sure. But those who are always on the look out for the next fix for their never-ending craving for the sounds of the depraved: look no further, Kiloton is among the best in the game!
