‘Chasing the Wind’ is the promotional single from Khaos, Haïfa, Israel. Released to promote the ‘Ensorcelled’ full-length that is due in September.
Khaos is a band centered around vocalist, instrumentalist and songwriter Noa K. and complemented with an array of talented studio musicians.
A lot of time, love and devotion has been poured into this recording that was recorded, mixed and mastered between the years 2016-2021. Musicwise it is a form of atmospheric yet occasionally Raw Black Metal with a myriad of influences of other genres such as Death Metal, Neofolk and so on.
On this single Noa Khaos roars with her coarse voice like it is the last thing she’ll ever do, screaming her lungs out, while being beautifully accompanied by her musicians. It has hints of Hulder, I must admit and what I hear is quite impressive to say the least. Several influences, acoustic breaks and even Middle Eastern influences pass by, all cumulating into one beautiful song.
Besides the opening track, there’s also ‘Trident Banner’ from the album and a shredding rehearsal version of the song ‘Thelos’. As said before, this single is a limited edition and serves as an appetizer for the complete album to be released on Masters of Kaos and I can only conclude that it does sound very promising for Khaos.
Those into atmospheric Black Metal with pathos, bombast and depth, yet still remaining raw surely need to check out the single and mark the September release of the full-length.
We’ll be waiting in anticipation for the debut.
