Oh man, this is a treat when you are into gems of the demo days of the early 1990s! Iconoclasm from Denmark only existed for a short period of time, started as Genocide in 1991, released a demo in 1992 and vanished after that…all members but one haven’t started any other bands or projects after Iconoclasm. Which are known of that is. Only guitarist Lars Bangsholt can be traced back to Maceration as he is present on their 2 demos and the “A Serenade of Agony” album.
Back to the “Obscurity” demo, as that one and only demo is a good one and this remastered re-release certainly does justice. Old School Death Metal, mid-tempo and quite some Doomy edges, the end 80’s / early 90’s Dutch way. Besides the “Obscurity” demo itself, 3 never released tracks are added to this co-released re-edition of the demo.
As said, Doom / Death Metal the Dutch way, the demo days of Asphyx…keep that in mind. (Ricardo)
