I.N.R.I. – Necrosophical Kult Metal [EP]

i.n.r.i. – necrosophical kult metal [ep]

Info

I.N.R.I.. The inscription that was supposedly nailed as a mockery above the head of the Nazarene on the cross at the crucifixion on hill Golgotha is also the monicker for a quite interesting new Black Metal act from the State of Durango in Mexico.

There are several bands in Mexico who use this title for a bandname and even more globally, I reckon.

But here, in this case I.N.R.I. is the acronym for ‘In Necis Renascor Integer’. The band itself was formed around 2019.

It is a band centred around Avatar Rebellion who is also active in Ars Inferi from San Luis Potosí and in Semjaza, another of his running projects.

I haven’t heard Semjaza yet, but on their first ‘Necrosophical Kult Metal’ Avatar Rebellion and the rest of his cohort of hired thugs (studio musicians) raise serious hell. Lyricwise the band falls backs on satanic/luciferian themes as these remain popular in Mexico and adopts a very authentic South American sound while they’re at it.

The blasphemous vocals and feral sounds that are puked out in a defying and provocative way, Avatar Rebellion sounds like he’s the new Angel of Death or Prophet of Doom and declares his war on Christianity on ‘Necrosophical Kult Metal’ … The way it is done, how the entire E.P. sounds and how everything falls into place – let’s say it exhales and oozes old Sarcofago, Funeral Winds, Vulcano, Amen Corner, Shub Niggurath, Hadez, “Aquelarre” period from Peru and other nefarious acts of Latin America in its music, in its lyrics and throughout the entire concept of Satanic Black Metal.

It’s like a wind of fresh air to hear such music in a more modern production. And it brutal as fuck!

I could describe ‘Necrosophical Kult Metal’ track by track, every track is a highlight on its own, so I will restrict myself to comparison with other bands.

You simple have to discover it yourself like I did. It does get a maximum score from me. And I bet a label like Nuclear War Now! won’t hesitate a second before they reel in this band.

I.N.R.I.’s ‘Necrosophical Kult Metal’ EP is currently out CD and in digital format, depending on the feedback it will get, Masters Of Kaos will certainly offer other formats in the near future. You’ve heard about it here, at VM-Underground, first. Visit the Bandcamp site of the label and have a listen.
