Dehiscence is a new band comprised of musicians who prefer to be left anonymous, but, if certain sources are to be believed we are dealing with members from bands such as Funebrarum and Diabolic Oath. With ‘Colony’ they do offer their first recording on both cassette tape (Seed Of Doom Records, The Netherlands) and CD (Chaos Records, Mexico).
Since I’m not really medically trained, I had to look up what ‘Dehiscence’ is exactly. So I found out that it basically is the tearing open of a wound along a surgical incision, usually as a result of obesity or just poor surgical work. Nice.
Knowing this, you might already guess in what direction we can find the band, musically. Indeed, it is a Grindcore influenced Death Metal band. While not going into hyper speed all the time, the music is predominantly on the fast side and the barking vocals are basically the icing on the Grindcore cake here. Musical resemblances might best be drawn with a mix between early Lock Up, Hemdale and Dahmer. The Death Metal tuning of the guitars do make it all so tastefully crunchy that I am sure that any well rounded Death Metal enthusiast will also be able to gratefully chew on these tunes. Their wild frenzy and brutally violent sonic attack is definitely recommended to the true Death Metal/Grindcore connoisseurs among us.
