Thrash, thrash, thrash ’till death!! Bestial Mockery are some Swedish maniacs who like their metal dirty as fuck, brutally fast and blisteringly raw. ‘Christcrushing Hammerchainsaw’ is their first title on a label although they’ve been assaulting the underground since 1996. This is total rub whiskey in your eyes, raise your middle finger and scream your guts out chainsaw metal! Do not expect any intellectualism, songwriting or even coherence here, ha ha. Blackened thrash metal it is… A sort of old Sodom and/or Destruction crossed with Blasphemy, Beherit and the likes, plus a good dose of Motörhead’s attitude. Well, it’s not as dark and satanic as aforementioned black metal bands but you get the idea.
Thrashy riffs combined with blastbeats and some chainsaw demonwinged maniac screaming phrases such as ‘Storm of fucking evil!!!!’ all over it. I didn’t like this thing at first because of the slightly thin sound which made it all come out a bit… tame. That is, until I realized I shouldn’t be such a pussy and just play it fucking LOUD! By then, you can hear the rumbling bass quite well underneath raw guitar strumming; production is slightly fuzzy but clear and the mix is adequate.
This music really rips (literally, there’s a chainsaw in ‘Morbid Invertation’) and the band are adequately convincing as chainsaw-wielding molesters of christ. Unfortunately this thing has been done many times before but that isn’t really the point here, is it? This is devil worship, blood, war, evil, alcohol, battle, chainsaw metal. Nothing more, nothing less. (MaartenDJ)
