This album kills! Ancient have developed over the years and have finally been able to use their potential to its fullest extent. A comparison to Ancient Rites can be made because like that band Ancient has incorporated many different influences from Heavy and (melodic) Death Metal into their Black Metal style.
This process of course didn’t start on this album but on this album it has reached the best format sofar. The production was done by Jacob Hansen and he gave Ancient the best production that they could get, a very clear sound but still maintaining the aggression and fierceness of the music.
After the intro the first song ‘Proxima centauri’ (which has a few riffs that remind me of Master’s Hammer!) starts off and until the last seconds of ‘Incarnating the malignant deity’ this record will have you in its enchantment. Some of my favorite songs are ‘The ancient horadrim’, ‘The witch’, ‘Audrina, my sweet’ and ‘Eyes of the dead’.
I can recommend this record to any metal fan, it has the stuff to satisfy them all, not just Black Metal fans!
