What we have here is the debut album of Polish Death squad Abominated, released by Godz ov War Productions who picked them up after the ‘Decomposed’ EP, co-releasing this album with Destruktion Records (cassette) and Behind the Mountain (12” vinyl).
Is ‘Traumatic Putrefaction’ a continuation of the grindin’ and sawin’ that could be heard on the EP. In my opinion, no, as they polished the raw edges (both sound and music) and drafted a bit away from the grindin’ part. What is left is the sawin’ part that is straight in your face. Just like the EP the sound isn’t 100% roaring HM-2, but if you listen to, for example, the title track or the beginning of ‘Blasphemous Convocation’, you can only conclude it is the Swedish soil these guys are worshipping in terms of the sound.
‘Traumatic Putrefaction’ merely clocks the 30 minutes, but in those minutes you get a nice slab of relentless Old School Death Metal. A solid debut full-length in my book.
