Jason and J.P. return with their 2nd album. This time, they’ve hired Alex Marquez to play the drums which he, of course, does very convincingly. I also heard a rumour (and not the first) that Jason fucked Alex over with some money or something. I don’t know, but considering the reason why they kicked him out of Malevolent Creation…But this might be a good question to ask him if we’re gonna do an interview!
Okay to the music goddamnit! On this album Divine Empire have included more variation in their US Death Metal, especially between the different songs. This makes the listening to the album more enjoyable. Although I prefer their debut, this really is a very good follow-up! With killer songs like ‘War torn’, ‘Dead and Martyred’, ‘Murder suicide’, ‘Self Inflicted’ and ‘The Culprit’, you’ll be putting your cd-player on repeat all for sure!
