Demonic Torment – Blood Lust [Demo]

demonic torment – blood lust [demo]

Info

After playing together in Krusifoitu, Human Animal, Arcanos (here under the pseudonym of Black Nuclear Hellstorm) and Vomit Deprivator thought it was time to combine their powers in a different vessel for their musical inspiration. Enter Demonic Torment and their very first demo, ‘Blood Lust’ from 2024.

The band needs a little bit less than 11 minutes to make their point come across, but to be fair, it takes even less to hear what they are about. While Krusifoitu is mostly inspired by the sound of Archgoat, Demonic Torment rather represents a volatile mix of Black and Death Metal in the vein of Profanatica and Black Witchery. The Black Metal element is especially present in the drums, the gritty guitar sound and the high-pitched shrieks, but also in the somewhat atonal and contrarian riffs. The majority of the riffs are more Death Metal oriented however, with the ending of the final track ‘Wrath and Torment’ even creeping towards Doom. The result is a cacophony of furious Black and Death Metal that blends effortlessly together into an ultimately violent and untamed piece of music with an oppressive atmosphere.

The demo was initially released by the band themselves in 30 copies, and was later re-issued by Unpure Records under the banner of the DIY Ungodly Underground Series. Limited to 50 copies, better act quickly if you can’t get enough of vile sonic violence that lurks in the shadows where Extreme Metal styles comes together.
